Free skate, Dance and Skills are to be taught on regular sessions. Coaches may schedule private, semi-private or group lessons with their skaters. 15 minute lessons blocks are not required. Stroking will be taught by the skater’s own coach and the fees paid by the skater directly to the coach.

Skate Canada programs
CanSkate – Stages 1 through 6 for both Pre-School and regular – same format as Jan-Mar 2011
Three 60 minute sessions per week
May skate once or twice per week
CanSkaters at stages 4-6 have an option for adding a 15 minute stroking session, but must have a private coach for stroking.
Advanced CanSkate – One hour session offered twice per week – similar to the Pre-Junior program offered Jan-Mar 2011.
Fewer skaters on the ice allow more movement.
May skate one or two days and may be combined with CanSkate
Must be working on CanSkate stages 4 through 6
45 minute group instruction (part with professional coach and part with PA)
15 minute supervised free time when private lessons may be taken
Option for additional 15 minute stroking session, but must have private coach for stroking. Stroking will be taught by the skater’s own coach and the fees paid by the skater directly to the coach.
Skaters registered for Advanced CanSkate may be submitted for STARSkate tests at the discretion of their private coach or by their group coach if they do not have a private coach.
Adult CanSkate– same format as 2010/2011
Stages 1 through 6 for ages 14 and older
Options for 10 and 20 week books of tickets
One 45 minute session per week
CanPowerSkate– two options based on ability
Pre-power to level 1 on Fridays
Must be able to skate forward and backward the entire length of the ice
Levels 1 through 6 on Wednesdays
Must have passed CanSkate 4 or 1 year pre-power at Dundas or Level 1 at another Club or be assessed by the coach or played Atom level hockey or above
STARSkate Levels
FutureSTARS – two options based on skater preference and ability, minimum requirement to skate this level
Must be working on CanSkate 7 through Preliminary (not passed one complete Preliminary test)
For skaters requiring more supervision:
Wed/Fri – Same format as Advanced CanSkate

Intermediate – Former Intermediate B
Must have passed one complete Preliminary test but not 2 complete Jr Bronze
Must skate at least twice per week
Must take lessons from private coach
Must take stroking
Senior – Must have passed 2 complete Jr Bronze tests
Must skate at least twice per week
Must take lessons from private coach
Must take stroking
Adult STARSkate – Must be at least 18
Must register for sessions based on Qualifications
May skate once per week
Special - Must have a home club other than Dundas
Must register for sessions based on Qualifications
May skate once per week
Alumni – Skaters who have been active members of Dundas FSC for a minimum of five years but are no longer able to commit to a full program may, at the discretion of the Board, register for Individual Membership with Dundas FSC as their home Club with the option of “guest skating” for a maximum of twice the stated maximum guest skates allowed per session. Only the Skate Canada fees plus insurance will be charged upon registration.
Guest Skaters – Skaters from other Skate Canada Clubs may guest skate on a session for which they qualify. Guest skaters who do not have a coach in the Dundas Figure Skating Club may not guest skate on stroking sessions. A skater may Guest skate a maximum of 3 times per Fall and Spring and 8 times per Winter session. Fees must be paid prior to skating.
